Nuove scrollbar di Ubuntu, da Precise a Natty
In Ubuntu 11.10 e la prossima 12.04 le overlay scrollbar (le barre di scorrimento a scomparsa) sono notevolmente migliorate. Ad esempio usano un movimento fluido di scorrimento e compaiono e scompaiono con maggiore affidabilità. Una delle ultime modifiche in Ubuntu 12.04 (la versione di sviluppo che uscirà ad aprile prossimo) è il fatto che la scrollbar appare non solo quando ci si posiziona sulla barra ma in qualsiasi punto del bordo della finestra.
Nel mio repo natty quasi rolling sto quindi importando con regolarità queste nuove scrollbar. Per installarle, se avete già il mio repo, basta un aggiornamento. Se le avevate disinstallate allora installate il pacchetto overlay-scrollbar e riavviate la sessione.
Possibili problemi: vlc e poche altre applicazioni QT paiono dare problemi (crashano o fanno crashare compiz). In tal caso basta evitare il caricamento delle scrollbar modificando il lanciatore. Aprite gedit con i provilegi di root (alt+f2 > gksu gedit), andate in /usr/share/applications, individuate il lanciatore dell’applicazione (nel nostro caso vlc.desktop), apritelo e alla riga Exec modificate da:
Exec= vlc %U
in
Exec=env LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 vlc %U
